About the Parametrics in Planning Project

- PARAMETRICS IN PLANNING? This research project, in fulfillment of my M.S. in Urban Planning Degree, will attempt to evaluate the development of Parametric Design in the context of its influence on the design of cities and the practice of urban planning. Specifically, this research will discuss and project the potential for Parametrics to be a productive tool in urban planning practice, beyond its established capacity as an architectural design technique.
Project Objectives
- Provide a platform for discussion of contemporary digital techniques in the design of cities
- Engage the digital design community on the subject of parametrics in planning through a series of substantive questions
- Propose a future for parametrics in urban planning practice
